In celebration of International Quilting Day, Saturday, March, 21, 2020, Rabbit & Rocket, a needle arts, craft and community space located at 207 West Main Street in downtown Lancaster, Ohio, will host a marathon quilting session starting at 9:00 am. Volunteer quilters will sew 48 blocks for assembly as an 84 x 109 inch quilt.
The quilt’s theme commemorates the 200th birth year of General William Tecumseh Sherman, native son of Lancaster, most recognized for his pivotal role in ending America’s Civil War. In private life, he had a talent for drawing. His works in pencil are on display at the Sherman House Museum, 137 East Main Street, Lancaster.
