John Gorka has been writing songs and singing his truth since the 1970s, when he performed regularly at Godfrey Daniels, a neighborhood coffeehouse in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He gravitated toward New York City and became involved with Jack Hardy’s Fast Folk circle, thus furthering his musical education and advancing his artistry. His soul-stirring baritone voice and soul-baring lyrics soon garnered the attention of audiences and record labels; 11 studio albums later, Gorka continues touring and sharing his great sense of humor in live performances.
Amilia K Spicer is a powerhouse singer-songwriter with a haunting, husky voice and a strong sense of place: preferably open spaces and mystical places. She uses the term “red-dirt noir” to describe her Americana/folk rock style. From her debut album, Like an Engine (2002), to her 2017 Wow and Flutter, Spicer has covered a lot of territory, both geographically and musically, and her songs reflect this breadth.
