In the Footsteps of a Farmer: Fleeting Beauty

September 24, 2018 8:00 am @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 8:00 am on Monday and Thursday, repeating until September 30, 2018 12:00 am

Photo exhibition featuring the work of Jodi Kushins – artist, educator, and urban farmer.

Five years ago, together with a group of friends and community supporters, Kushins began farming in her Clintonville backyard . Since then, she has watched the landscape change as a result of that work. She uses photography and social media to share moments of beauty she encounters in the space with others, around the word, inspiring them to not only grow their own food, but pay attention to the aesthetics of such processes. Deeply inspired by the work of environmental educators and artists who use the world at-large as their canvas, Kushins pushes viewers to stop and think about the truth behind Winston Churchill’s observation that we shape our spaces and then those spaces shape us.

This exhibition was made possible with a grant from the Greater Columbus Arts Council.

Proceeds from the sale of artwork will be used to supporting ongoing educational initiatives at Over the Fence Urban Farm.
