How to Fake Having Confidence

April 1, 2018 3:00 pm @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

In today’s society (and yesterday’s and probably tomorrow’s) there is a lot of pressure to be confident. Unless you have “confidence,” you are unlikely to get anyone other than your mother to love you. Unless you are confident and stare your prospective employer in the eyes during your job interview, you are likely to not have a career at all.

The truth is that confidence is important because it is what allows us to perform difficult tasks successfully. And performing difficult tasks successfully leads to having confidence. But this is a chicken and the egg problem. How can I feel confident that I can do something well without actually having done it yet?

The answer is faking it. That’s exactly what we are going to learn how to do. We will learn how to fake our personality type, how to fake how others see us, and how to fake the appearance of confidence. Using all of this, we will learn how to fake the feeling of confidence!

Music and banter provded by local musician and interesting guy Ben Ahlteen!
