Join us at the Pizzuti Collection for a special concert in conjunction with I, TOO SING AMERICA: THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE AT 100, a celebration of the Harlem Renaissance and the Columbus, OH black arts community. We are thrilled to welcome UCelli: the Columbus Cello Quartet for the premiere performance of Four Women by composer Dr. Mark Lomax. The piece comes from Lomax’s 400: An Afrikan Epic, an ambitious story-telling of Black America over the course of a 12 album cycle to be released in 2019. UCelli will also perform a wonderful, difficult, jazzy piece by David Baker, the first African-American to serve on the board of the NEA.
The event is free. Donations to support the Pizzuti Collection education programs are welcome and appreciated!
