Join aborist Rick Frantz for a guided tree tour hike in Green Lawn Cemetery. He’ll discuss interesting facts about the trees, historical context, and medicinal uses. Before the Greenlawn Cemetery was established in 1849 cattle grazed across a mixed oak forest with gently rolling hills. Remnants of that native old-growth forest remain to this day, with several trees over 200 years old, beneficiaries of incidental conservation. Inspect these majestic trees up close and explore some of the 112 species that have been recently surveyed and mapped in Ohio’s second largest cemetery.
