Great Hallelujah Holiday Tour of Downtown Churches

December 1, 2018 2:00 pm @ 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Feel the true spirit of the holidays with our fantastically festive tour.

Downtown Columbus is home to many historically and architecturally significant churches representing the finest in craftsmanship and ecclesiastical design. Please join us for a walking tour like none other you’ve experienced. Be moved by powerful seasonal music at each stop with an introduction by WOSU Classical 101’s very own, Christopher Purdy. Experience the rich architectural history of each church with Columbus Landmarks experts. And, understand how these churches work to connect their dynamic congregations to the greater neighborhood, while being caretakers of some of Columbus’ most important and challenging landmark buildings.

Featured Tour Stops along 1.25-mile walking tour route:
First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St. featuring Kevin Jones, Organist
Christian Spiritualist Temple, 77 S. Sixth St. featuring Nathan Hay, Harpist
Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 E. Broad St. featuring Thomas Belcher, Carillon Bells

The tour ends at Broad Street United Methodist Church. Don’t miss the deliciously decadent homemade holiday cookie spread at the last stop following the tour. And, be SURE to stop by our holiday pop-up shop for Hallelujah tour specials on great gifts for all the important people on your list!!
You may wish to extend your tour by visiting the holiday light displays downtown: State Auto’s Historic Christmas Display and Life-Sized Nativity, displayed annually since 1932; Columbus Metropolitan Library Huntington Holiday Train Display, 96 S. Grant Ave. (closes at 6pm); Topiary Park Holiday Lights, behind Main Library; Columbus Commons Holiday Lights; and Scioto Mile Holiday Lights.
