Grateful Space, led by Tony Garrison, has developed the initiative to produce a day-long event to promote Gratefulness for the Columbus community.
Date: Saturday, October 3, 2020
Where: The Everal Barn, Westerville Ohio
The workshops are offered at no costs to the participants.
4 Workshops have been developed using Columbus, Ohio based wellness leaders to focus on empowering participants to find their grateful space through mediation, reflection, and mindset.
“This will be an incredible day not only to inform and teach the community but also to inspire gratefulness,” said Garrison. “Gratefulness improves our physical, psychological, and social well-being. The social benefits are especially significant now in the midst of the issues that are surrounding us in the multifaceted pandemic.”
Each session will offer a unique method of mediation and/or reflection toward mindfulness.
Participants will have the opportunity to choose to work with:

In this session, you’ll learn an emotional intelligence boosting twist on the traditional lovingkindness practice to cultivate empathy, compassion, and resilience.
Daron Larson. Daron helps people feel more at home in their lives by encouraging them to habitually notice ordinary experiences in liberating ways. He has been practicing mindfulness daily to disrupt his own default narrative mode since his first silent meditation retreat in October 2002.
He teaches mindfulness practice as attention training, using the challenges and benefits of physical fitness to help navigate similar aspects of developing attentional skills. Growing scientific evidence shows that consistent mindfulness practice can improve baseline levels of self-awareness, contentment, and compassion. Attentional Fitness Training is a natural, science-backed addition to the strategies currently available for healthier living.
In addition to coaching individuals, he has facilitated classes and workshops for JamesCare for Life, Mount Carmel Health, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Employee Wellness, Upper Arlington LifeLong Learning, Dublin Community Recreation Center, IGS Energy, Otterbein University, Ohio Wesleyan University, Shinzen Young’s Basic Mindfulness Home Practice Program, Marion Correctional Institution, as well as other businesses and organizations.
