Interested in exploring German Village and learning about one of Columbus’s most historically fascinating neighborhoods? German Village Society offers a one-mile guided tour that walks guests through the village’s charming brick streets. Immerse your group in the history of German Village with captivating stories about the architecture and culture that make German Village so unique.
Over 60 years ago, Frank Fetch—the founder of German Village Society—started the tour program to introduce the village and its restoration and preservation work to Columbus. The tours have since been a central component of German Village Society’s restoration mission and a special way to welcome friends old and new to the neighborhood.
The tour begins at the Meeting Haus where guests watch an award-winning video about the history of the neighborhood and receive a visitor guide map. Points of interest include homes that showcase the village’s restoration success, businesses that serve German Village’s contemporary residents, Frank Fetch Park—where guests hear about the founder of German Village’s restoration movement—and more! Coach tours are available, as well as other tour options for groups of all ages, such as the Neighbor Scavenger Hunt.
The tour season starts in April and goes through October. Ticket Prices for the standard walking tour are: Adults $15, Seniors $12, Students $10, Step-on guide 45-52 people: $250.
