As our communities, the country, and the world cope with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, we wish to express our heartfelt concern for the wellbeing of the entrepreneurs and communities we serve. In the face of this crisis, the mission of Forward Cities—to create opportunities for shared prosperity through inclusive and equitable entrepreneurial ecosystem development—is more critical than ever. Which is why it saddens us to announce that we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Forward Cities national conference, which was scheduled to be held June 10-12 in Franklin County/Columbus, OH.
We are in the process of rescheduling the conference for June 2021 in Franklin County/Columbus. If you have reserved a room for this year’s conference, please reach out directly to the Hilton Downtown Columbus here. For attendees who have already registered we will provide full refunds. Please stay tuned to our website and e-newsletter for updates including when registration will reopen as well as plans to host virtual conversations to discuss strategies for supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners as events continue to unfold.
Times of crisis, like this one, remind us of the power of community and the need for coordinated action. Our collective resilience is dependent on us coming together and supporting each other—especially those most vulnerable to economic shocks and uncertainty.
While we will not be together physically in June, we at Forward Cities strive to work with each of you to forge a path forward and to develop and rally around specific strategies to help make our communities stronger. As these strategies come together we will be sure to share–and we welcome you sharing with us–efforts underway that we can support and help amplify through our national communications platforms.
We look forward to being in touch in the days and weeks to come and hope each of you remain safe and healthy.
All the best,
Christopher Gergen, on behalf of the Forward Cities team
