Food Sustainability Panel

July 18, 2018 6:30 pm @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

On Wednesday, July 18th at 630pm, climate advocacy group Defend Our Future will host an event in partnership with A & R Restaurant Group at TRISM in Columbus. The event is a free panel discussion featuring local food producers, business leaders, sustainability, and climate change experts all who will be coming together to talk about climate change and the effect it has on food production and distribution and what is being done to accommodate a growing demand for locally sourced food.

We all must play our part if we are going to reduce our collective impact on the changing climate. The experts in attendance will bring various perspectives to the discussion and will engage in a discussion where there will likely be some disagreement as some have backgrounds in dealing with more traditional agriculture while we have an urban farmer as well. It is imperative that we have leaders like these panelists who are willing to come together and talk about finding more sustainable practices at all levels of food production, delivery, and consumption. The roundtable will discuss the consequences of a local, state, and federal government that isn’t promoting and encouraging more sustainable food practices as well as some of the ways government is encouraging sustainability.
