STORY: The Linden community of Columbus is a neighborhood with a high number of safety and health disparities among its predominantly Black residents due to its lack of basic resources. Linden has been responded to with an ever-increasing police presence while the community’s health concerns have been ignored. The lifelong residents have been forced to survive in not only a “food desert” now void of any grocery stores of accessibility, but an overall resource stricken neighborhood full of abandoned facilities. This is NOT an issue of law enforcement, this is an issue of Environmental Racism, and a lack of economic access and community safety structures driven by health equity. Which is why if the city does not invest into Linden, Linden shall invest in itself and will be supported by concerned residents, leaders and organizations of other similar neighborhoods in solidarity! #BoycottColumbus
