The Film Festival of Columbus will be returning for its 8th year September 11-14, 2019. This year’s line-up includes 76 feature and short films and two episodic pilots. New this year is the Greater Columbus Film Commission’s Film Industry Summit on Friday, September 13. “This is a great addition to the festival this year,” says John Daugherty, Executive Director of the Greater Columbus Film Commission. “We’re able to invite filmmakers that come to the festival to attend the Summit to provide a broader and richer experience for all the attendees. And it provides a great networking opportunity for filmmakers from all over the country.”
The Film Festival of Columbus was founded in 2012. Originally started as a way to show off the city to rising filmmakers, it has evolved over the years to include showcasing exceptional local and regional talent alongside global filmmakers. The festival continues to raise awareness of film as art AND business creating an experience that will bring a new and diverse cultural event to the area. It aims to bring people together, showcasing seasoned and rising filmmakers and extraordinary work from around the world all while raising awareness of Columbus and Central Ohio as a filmmaking destination.
