Fantastic Fungi

January 17 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Are you ready to explore the magic that lives beneath our feet? Simply Living is delighted to host the opening night screening of Fantastic Fungi at the Gateway. You can see the trailer on the website FantasticFungi.com and be sure to visit the Mush Room for wonderful resources and clips that will draw you in for a deep dive into the world of mushrooms and the new knowledge of their functions in maintaining and healing our planet. The film features world renowned mycologist Paul Stamets.

“Louie [Schwartzberg] and his team have accomplished an amazing task – with beautiful imagery, celebrating the quality of nature we have now. Fantastic Fungi is a film that serves to be a bridge of understanding to connect these ideas. By investing in these fungal networks we invest in the webs of life. Time is short. We need to bring this knowledge to the forefront of public consciousness.” ~ Paul Stamets

The expert panel following the film will include:
Jason Slot, OSU professor of plant pathology whose research focuses on the evolution of psilocybe in mushrooms:
Joseph Campbell, director of the Environmental Professionals Network in the OSU School of Environment and Natural Resources; and
Brian Pace, co-founder of Mind Manifest Midwest, a Columbus, Ohio based psychedelic society that hosts public events, welcomes expert speakers, and shares harm-reduction information in-person and online.

Not to be missed! If you can’t attend Friday evening when Simply Living will be tabling and hosting the expert panel and Q&A discussion, make plans to see it during the week of January 17-23.
