Dana Lynn Harper Artist Talk: Between Everything

September 20, 2018 6:30 pm @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Dana Lynn Harper will speak on her solo exhibit “Between Everything” in an explorative artist talk that takes participants on an intimate tour of this layered examination of the soul’s passage from this world to the next.

Doors open at 6:30 pm with light refreshments and the talk beings at 7:00 pm, followed by a Q&A session.

“Between Everything is an exploration of traveling from one place to the next. For the past five years, I have been creating large dreamlike installations using light, color and reflective materials. In this exhibition, I translate this passage between two worlds into imagery of portals and fuzzy horizon lines, seen in the Rainbow Portal mural as well as the two dimensional works. Bloom Bloom, a dripping ceiling of color and light, illustrates one world fading into the next very literally. In the works Cosmic Glimmer and Super Cluster, I use iridescent and translucent materials to mimic the soul as it leaves the body, in transition to the next world.

Using multiple sources of visual inspiration, I make new places to exist and be, spaces that belong to everyone.”
