Crossing Lines

March 23, 2019 7:00 pm @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Join us for this exhibition at Second Sight Project that features Columbus-based artists, Christopher Cropper, Daniel Rona and Patrick Vincent. All three artists use bright primary colors and bold lines to depict, capture and document our every day experiences. These two dimensional compilations of memories, hopes and dreams become mazes of representational and abstract imagery. Viewers are left dissecting, unwinding and unloading these intertwining layers of heavy piles of objects, figures, shapes and faces. As the works unravel, the compositions create stories through the tangled relationships of multiple objects. Illustrative imagery is drawn with a heavy black line that carries throughout each artists’ work. This bold contrasting line is consistent in weight, outlining bodies, faces and objects. Each artist approaches their work intuitively, making decisions as the work is produced. This malleable decision-making process creates playful compositions and surprising color.

Rona, Cropper and Vincent all grew up in central Ohio. While being dedicated to their artistic practice, they are non-traditionally trained.

curated by Dana Lynn Harper. Second Sight Project was founded by artist Mona Gazala and is an artist and residency space as well as a gallery and studio.

After visiting this exhibition we hope that you visit the neighboring house, Sign House 737, for our resident artist, Shari Wilkins, solo exhibition.
