On March 15th, students across the world will strike in order to call for radical action on climate change. The strike was inspired by Greta Thunberg, a teen activist in Sweden who began striking every Friday last summer, and who has been joined by more and more students every week. The Student Strike for Climate Action on March 15th will involve students from France, Sweden, Australia, Ireland, the U.S. and other countries. We are calling for every student in Ohio to not attend school and join our protest in order to show their disgust with our government’s failure to combat climate change.
Climate change is the most important issue of our time because it poses an existential threat to humanity. It will and has already begun to usher in droughts, floods, coral acidification, rising sea levels, extreme heat, poverty for hundreds of millions of people across the globe, and more. We are marching to remind our political leaders the magnitude of change which is required of us is unprecedented, and these changes need to occur immediately.
Join us on the 15th from 12-2pm in front of the William McKinley Statue at the Statehouse!
