Columbus Dance Theatre’s beloved holiday classic, Matchgirl, returns for its final year at the Lincoln Theatre. This timeless tale, written by Hans Christian Andersen, was created as CDT’s annual family ballet more than two decades ago. It continues to move Columbus audiences each year with its poignant message of forgiveness and hope.

This year’s production will feature an orchestra and choir accompanying the entire ballet under the baton of Ohio Wesleyan University Associate Professor of Music Jason Hiester. The musicians from throughout central Ohio and choir will contribute live music to the ballet with various selections of music by Aaron Copland including Red Pony and Down a Country Lane as well as John Rutter’s Magnificat. Join our professional dancers and musicians for a night of magic brought to life on stage.
