Award winning modern quilter Cassandra Ireland Beaver has designed a stunning new Block of the Month quilt highlighting Columbus architecture and landmarks, in a realistic and modern style. Blocks will include the Ohio History Museum, Franklin Park Conservatory, Columbus Museum of Art, Thurber House, the State House, and more!
The Cityscape quilt will finish at about twin size, 72″ x 90″ and is predominantly foundation paper pieced with a little traditional piecing mixed in. Participants will receive a monthly pattern designed by Cassandra Ireland Beaver and all the fabric for the quilt top. Patterns will become available on the first day of each month and will be mailed for no additional cost or held for pick-up upon request.
The Block of the Month includes an optional in-store demo with Cassandra demonstrating paper piecing techniques and pointers for completing that month’s block. The skill level is intermediate but a confident beginner should do well with any paper piecing experience or by attending the demos. Demos are on Sunday afternoons from 1-2 pm on the following dates: May 6, June 3, July 8, August 5, September 2, October 14, November 11, December 2, January 6, February 3, March 3, April 7 and May 5.
