Capital University’s Latest Schumacher Gallery Exhibit Reflects on Haunting Holocaust History

October 2 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Saturday, repeating until December 11, 2021 12:00 am

The Schumacher Gallery at Capital University will host an exhibition titled, “A Requiem: Tribute to the Spiritual Space at Auschwitz” by Susan May Tell from September 7 to December 11.
This haunting exhibition hosts 17 photographic images without words, titles, or even frames, as these images stand as witnesses to the horrific scene that was Auschwitz. Tell explains that her imagery meditates on the idea that “like other sacred grounds that are decaying, Auschwitz today is disappearing and raises questions about whether places of this kind should be restored and the importance of memory and commemoration. Equally important to my artistic vision is my commitment to Auschwitz as a meditation on decay and memory.”

The exhibit will be free and open to the public.
