It Looks Like It’s Open (aka ILLIO) is a very special place. Over the years that I’ve lived in Columbus, I’ve had many transformative experiences there. It’s run by an evolving collective, and hosts a wide range of events: yoga and meditation classes, music shows, puppet shows, poetry readings, workshops of all kinds, art openings—really anything that an open, white room can accommodate. That’s one of the things I love most about ILLIO: its potential to be whatever you need it to be. If you’ve been following my Bookspace activities over the last three-and-a-half years (!), you might remember some poetry readings, a zine workshop, and a pop-up I hosted there—which was really just practice for this.

I am thrilled to announce that I am joining the ILLIO collective, and will be turning the space into Bookspace every Friday afternoon starting March 8. Because the space is used in so many ways and some events are booked months out, there won’t be a set closing time—at least not yet. For now it’ll be at least 12:30-5 (except on 3/15 when I have to close at 4:30), but I’ll usually stay open later, often until 7. I’ll post updates on my Instagram (bookspace_columbus); March and April hours:

Upcoming Hours of Operation
March 8: 12:30-7
March 15: 12:30-4:30
March 22: 12:30-5
March 29: 12:30-5:30
April 5: 12:30-5
April 12: 12:30-7
April 19: 12:30-7
April 26: 12:30-7
