The purpose of Beyond Driver’s Ed is to create a classroom and simulator educational session for new drivers to enhance their abilities and increase their awareness of safe, defensive driving habits. We are primarily targeting high school age drivers who are on their temporary license or in the first to second year of driving and reside within Dublin or the City of Dublin School District. We have space for 40 students. The three hour classroom training will be broken into four parts:
Part 1: overview, general traffic laws overview.
Part 2: distracted driving.
Part 3: what to do in a crash, what to do when pulled over.
Part 4: impaired driving.
The second part of this course will be conducted the week of July 23 – 27, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and July 30 – August 3, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., each student will sign up for a 3 hour time slot. This portion of the training will be one on one with an officer utilizing the driving simulator. This will be held at the Dublin Justice Center. There will be two slots available per time period. The link to register for simulator training will be provided at the time of registration. This class is for Dublin residents and school district residents.
