Bexley Public Library is pleased to announce that the Bexley Community Author Series (BCAS), featuring award-winning, bestselling journalist and author Susan Orlean, will take place live on Zoom on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 7 pm and will be FREE to all who register. During the event, Ms. Orlean will reflect on her writing and career experiences, continue with an interview with Ivonne Garcia of the College of Wooster, and conclude with a question and answer session. Additional details regarding the event will be shared on our website at www.BexleyLibrary.org/bcas and @BexleyLibrary on social media.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our sponsors and host committee members who make it possible for us to bring notable and influential voices, like Ms. Orleans’s, to our community through the Bexley Community Author Series,” noted Ben Heckman, Library Director. We are looking forward to her visit and are especially pleased to make this year’s event free and accessible to all who are interested in attending.”

The Library Book, Ms. Orlean’s newest release and instant New York Times bestseller, explores and celebrates the history, power, and future of libraries. Her earlier work includes The Orchid Thief, which inspired the Academy Award-winning film Adaptation. Ms. Orlean is a long-time staff writer at The New Yorker, and a former contributing editor at Rolling Stone and Vogue.

The 2020 Bexley Community Author Series is offered in partnership with Bexley City Schools, the Bexley Community Foundation, Gramercy Books, and WCBE 90.5 FM. It is made possible by our major sponsors like Giant Eagle, Crane Group, Paige and Michael Crane, Linda and Frank Kass, Friends of Bexley Public Library, and Whitehall Bexley Rotary Club Foundation as well as other generous donations from individuals and businesses to the Bexley Community Author Series Fund at the Bexley Community Foundation.
