The Columbus Arts Festival, presented by the Greater Columbus Arts Council, will debut the first ever Arts Fest Pop-Up during the Dispatch Spring Home & Garden Show at the Ohio Expo Center on Sunday, Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Pop-Up will feature 12 Columbus-based artists selling their work and doing live demonstrations on the Simple Bath Home Stage. Visitors can shop for metal sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, photography and paintings, or watch live demos in stained glass, torch work glass and painting, or participate in making a Matisse-a Pizza collage.

The featured artists are:

  • Diane Ackers (painting) creates expressive art that consists of objects from nature and non-objective work.
  • Patrick Durkin (mixed-media) is the inventor of Matisse-a Pizza, an all-inclusive art project. Durkin will have a participatory collage activity with Matisse-a Pizza on stage at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
  • Brittni Hall (painting) creates oil paintings on canvas that are explorations of color and composition. She will be doing a demo of live painting on stage at 2:30 p.m.
  • Lisa Horkin (glass) creates handmade blown glass vases and bowls in various sizes, colors and patterns both functional and creative. She will demonstrate torch glass work on stage at 12:30 p.m.
  • Lab Partners (jewelry) exists at the intersection of art and science, blending the latest innovative technologies with time-honored artistic techniques to craft enduring works of beauty.
  • Megs LeVesseur (ceramics) handcrafts whimsical one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces, including the Botanical Collection, which uses traditional hand-building techniques, terra sigillata and multiple glaze layers.
  • John Noel (metal) of Noeldbout Designs makes quality Ohio-themed products that are sourced and created in Columbus. Most of his products are laser cut and made from birch.
  • Samantha Pitts (photography) is an Ohio-based photographer with an affinity for documenting her travels around the state and across the country. Finding those unique angles and small hidden details is what drives her creativity.
  • Colleen Rosshirt (stained glass) of CORO Stained Glass Studio creates beautiful, affordable, one-of-a-kind ornaments to adorn any home, office or garden space. Rosshirt will demonstrate stained glass making on stage at 1:30 p.m.
  • Jim Siemer (painting) works in watercolors that capture majestic moments for Columbus and Ohio residents. Siemer works primarily in watercolors because the medium has the special quality of enabling translucent vibrant colors to mingle within shapes conveying abstraction within form.
  • Adlai Stein (metal) has been a traditional blacksmith for over 25 years. His business, Macabee Metals, uses hammer, anvil and forge to create unique hand-forged ironwork cutlery, housewares and art. Adlai was a contestant on History Channel’s Forged in Fire.
  • Betsey Williamson (leather), founder of BETSON, is a designer based in Columbus where all bags are conceptualized as original designs, developed, built and dispatched. Each bag is carefully and thoughtfully created to deliver the wearer a designed and quality piece which can be enjoyed just as much tomorrow as today.
