Among the Shadows in the Intervals of Dream: Curatorial Practices

April 6 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Monday and Wednesday, repeating until April 15, 2020 12:00 am

Among the Shadows in the Intervals of Dream explores the construction of historical narratives and collective memory. Artists’ works challenge authoritative accounts of history by focusing on the gaps and unsettling contradictions these histories paper over. Among the Shadows in the Intervals of Dream takes its title from the poem Absence of Shadows by Chilean-American writer Marjorie Agośin. Like Agośin in her poetry, the exhibited artists question the creation of history, intergenerational memory and remembrance around acts of displacement and trauma. The exhibition creates a space for engaging lived histories and memories through an evolving set of questions and stories, both personal and collective.
