A team of empanada entrepreneurs test-drove a food business concept at Seventh Son last year to see how crowds would react to their gourmet take on the popular latin dish. This weekend they’re ready to make their debut with a new name: Bolsanada.

“We will be serving a joint food concept out of That Food Truck on January 24th from 5pm until 2 am,” says Chef Mike Gadd. “The event will feature a combination of flavors and inspirations behind Bolsanda and That Food Tuck.”

The menu includes Smoke Short Rib empanadas with caramelized brussels sprouts and a roasted pablano harissa sauce, and Roasted Butternut Squash empanadas with cardamom mascarpone, granny smith apples and a bourbon dolce de leche sauce. The truck will also feature three types of tacos served with oranges and radish.

“We are just three guys that have grown up in the restaurant industry and love empanadas,” co-owner Tomos Mughan told us last summer. “We fell in love with them in LA, and felt we had to expose Columbus to such a great concept.”
