Downtown Dublin will soon be home to a new ice skating rink, at least temporarily.

The City of Dublin announced it is bringing a rink to the Riverside Crossing Park this winter, with an official opening date of Friday, Dec. 17, 2021.

“It wouldn’t be winter without taking a spin on the ice,” said Director of City of Dublin Parks & Recreation Matt Earman. “The new rink adds a touch of festive fun to the Downtown Dublin area under the perfect backdrop of The Dublin Link.”

The new rink will be located on the park’s lower plaza, at 6635 Riverside Dr.

Admission is $10 per person and includes complimentary skate rentals. Skaters are also welcome to bring their own skates, but the admission rate will remain the same.

The 3,200-square-foot rink will be open on the weekends, from 5 to 9 p.m. on Fridays, 12 to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 to 6 p.m. on Sundays. However, the rink will also hold special holiday hours.

The rink will be available through mid-March 2022.

In addition to the new rink in Downtown Dublin, the City of Dublin also manages an ice skating rink at Coffman Park, 5200 Emerald Pkwy. Unlike the Crossing Park rink, however, it is more sensitive to the weather and needs consistent freezing temperatures to maintain an icy surface for skaters and rentals are not available.
