Downtown’s Blind Lady Tavern Closing Soon

It’s been a weekend of disappointing announcements, the second of which was Blind Lady Tavern’s upcoming closure. The bar and restaurant was about to conclude their third year of business, opening up at 22 E. Mound St. Downtown in October of 2015 and serving for the last time on Saturday, August 11.

“It was a good run and we are so unbelievably thankful for our amazing guests and friends that supported us along the way,” Blind Lady Tavern staff posted on Facebook. “Hopefully you aren’t too saddened by this news to stop in for one last drink and say goodbye to Blind Lady Tavern.”

Blind Lady Tavern had just introduced a new food and drink menu in July, offering a mix of sharable plates, house specialties and seasonal dishes. The business was recognized for its diverse food and cocktails, and its burgers were hailed as the best in town in 2016, after participating in CU’s Best Bites: Burgers event.

Details behind the closure have yet to surface, and owner Seth Laufman could not be reached for a comment.
