    Dough Mama Named Best Dessert in Columbus at Best Bites

    We are still on a Sugar high from this past Thursday’s Best Bites: Sweet Treats event! Thank you to everyone who came out and made the event fantastic. A big shout out to all our vendors who all brought their A game to compete for the best treat of the night.

    Guests tasted treats from 28 makers including:  Three Kids and a Kitchen, MMELO, J-Pops Gourmet Ice Pops,  Rime Time Curiously Crafted Pops, Velvet Ice Cream, Early Bird Food Truck, Elena’s Specialty Cakes, Mrs. Turbo’s Cookies, Lopaus Point, Winans Chocolates + Coffees, Bailey’s Drive Inn Donuts,  Dough Mama,Short North Piece of Cake, Nellie’s Natural Ice Pops, Two Little Buckeyes, Fantasy Cupcake, Positively Sweet, LLC, Torlitas, Handel’s Ice Cream,  The Guild House, Nothing Bundt Cakes,Coco Cat Bakery & Chocolates, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Pouf Cotton Candy,  Donna’s Gourmet Cookies,  Jeni’s Ice Cream , Third Course Bakery and Community Grounds Coffee & Meeting House.

    The votes have been tallied and the winner is Dough Mama with their Gluten Free Lavender Lemon Blueberry Cakes!

    The top 5 vote getters included:

    3. Nellies Natural Ice Pops – Various Ice Pops

    5. J-Pops – Lemon Basil Ice Pops

    We hope you were able to try a featured drink from Modelo Negra, St. Brendan’s Irish Cream or Meier’s Wine to go with your sweets.

    Thanks to Arnett Howard for creating a fun party atmosphere with his creole funk duo! And to thanks to the Gifts of Kindness Fund and Besa for providing us an opportunity to share encouragement and kindness through handwritten notes at the event.

    Thanks to all who supported Hubbard Mastery School by checking their coats and umbrellas.

    An extra special thanks to the CU team and volunteers that helped make this event happen!     A portion of the proceeds from all ticket sales will be donated to the The Columbus Foundation’s Gifts of Kindness Fund, a community-focused fund that helps Central Ohio families with emergency needs. The Columbus Underground Best Bites events have helped to raise over $24,000 for local charities since 2014.
