An empty office at the corner of Gay and Grant will be getting two new restaurants instead of just one. On January 1st we broke the news that Betty’s Fine Food & Spirits will be relocating to the building in mid-2014 from their original Short North location, and now a local franchise operation for Domino’s pizza is announcing plans to open in the other half of the building.

“Glen Stroud is the Columbus franchisee for Domino’s and he came to me originally because he was looking for a delivery spot for the growing Downtown population,” explained building owner Randy Walker. “But when he came down in the late summer last year and saw all the activity in the area, he got all psyched up to build a bigger restaurant.”

The new store will take up roughly 2,900 square feet of the 6,000 square foot building, with Betty’s taking the other half. The Domino’s location will be somewhat unique for Central Ohio in that it features sit-down dining for 30-40 people in addition to delivery and carry out service.

An official opening date has not be set, but Walker said that he expected it to open around the same time as Betty’s in mid-summer.
