Doga! Yoga with Pups For a Cause

On Saturday, September 15, the Pizzurro Dog Park at 940 S. Hamilton Road in Gahanna will be alive not only with the usual dogs and their owners, but also with several dogs seeking new owners and yogis donating to Stop the Suffering Rescue.

“My wonderful fiancee Kevin [Drewyor] got the idea after meeting Stop the Suffering at a Paws in the Plaza event in Gahanna. It’s a great cause, and I am glad to help,” says Trisha Hoffman, owner of Namaste in Love. Hoffman will lead the yoga. The class will be donation only and all proceeds will go to animal rescue. Several dogs up for adoption are scheduled to be there.

“It is open to any one. Absolutely no yoga experience necessary!” says Hoffman, “It is just about having a fun time with the dogs and doing some good in the park.”

Hoffman’s teacher and also a dog owner, Taylor Hunt of Ashtanga Yoga Columbus says, “Trisha is an excellent teacher and person. She does good work, and I hope that this event is successful for her and Stop the Suffering.”

Since opening her yoga studio in 2017, Hoffman has had a warm welcome from the Gahanna community. Namaste In Love has a full roster of classes in Gahanna’s Creekside complex.

Hoffman encourages people to sign up online; donations will be accepted at the park by Stop the Suffering. Doga will be held Saturday, September 15, from 10am-11am, at the dog park, 940 Pizzurro Park Road at 940 S. Hamilton Road.

Updated: Original date of Saturday, September 8 was cancelled due to weather.
