    For national music tours, visiting Columbus is a mixed bag

    Two months ago, just under 5,000 people paid to see Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem perform in LC Pavilion’s amphitheater. That figure can be interpreted many ways, but mostly it confirms that booking live music in Columbus is a crapshoot.

    “It’s a mixed bag,” said David Viecelli, president of the Billions Corporation, a Chicago-based booking agency that represents Arcade Fire and a roster of mostly indie-rock acts.

    “If something doesn’t perform along the lines of what we expect, it’s generally doing worse, not better,” he said.
