    Destination Donuts Moving to Clintonville

The destination for donuts will soon be Clintonville.

After a six-and-a-half year run, North Market’s Destination Donuts will step out on its own, opening a brick-and-mortar location at 3519 N. High St.

“Ultimately it was a long-term goal that we had been working towards,” says Owner Heather Morris.

It was a right time, right opportunity type of situation. Morris says they looked at a number of locations, but Clintonville has always had a soft spot in her heart as it’s where she grew up. It’s also a community known for showing love to its local businesses.

At 900 square feet, the new storefront will double Destination Donut’s space at the North Market.

Donut-seekers will find the same rotating selection of delectable donuts at the Clintonville storefront (typically 8 varieties and one nibbler flavor daily), plus a few new additions.

“We’re going to still stick with donuts as our core item, but we hope to offer some gluten-free options down the road,” Morris says.

There will be coffee, OJ, tea and more to wash it all down.

Destination Donuts will keep delivering its wares to other local coffee shops, but the new space also comes with new opportunities, like doing more catering, Morris says.

Monday, October 11 will mark the end of Destination Donuts at North Market, 59 Spruce St. There’s no word yet on what might replace it at the market. It will be a quick turnaround as the new Clintonville shop is scheduled to open in late October.

Destination Donuts takes over the former home of Colonial Candy. The sweets shop headed north in the neighborhood, reestablishing itself at 3620 N. High St. as a primarily pick-up and delivery operation.

Destination Donuts’ hours are still being finalized, but there will be plenty of early-morning donut access with a likely start time of 7 a.m.
