Del Taco Coming Soon to Ohio
Taco Bell will soon be getting a run for its money in Central Ohio, as California-based fast food competitor Del Taco enters the market through a local franchise deal announced earlier today.
Local franchise operator Sean Cahill will manage the local expansion for the brand, with plans to eventually open seven locations in the region. The first one, which is currently under construction, will open in Bellefontaine, located about an hour northwest of Columbus in Logan County.
“I’ve been involved in franchising and the restaurant industry for 15 years, and have come to appreciate brands who prioritize the customer experience and have strong values,” stated Cahill via press release. “I’m looking forward to leading the brand’s expansion efforts into Ohio, an untapped market with tremendous potential.”
The first Del Taco opened in Yermo, California in 1964 and has grown to over 500 locations, primarily in the western United States. The opening in Bellefontaine will be the first store in Ohio.
The menu consists of familiar items like tacos, burritos and quesadillas, but also includes includes burgers, fries and milkshakes. The chain is also known for its breakfast menu and vegan/vegetarian options.
