This week, one of two brand new Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ concepts will celebrate a grand opening. Del Mar SoCal Kitchen, located on the ground floor of the 711 N. High St. building, opens to the public this Tuesday, April 16.
Taking inspiration from Southern California, Del Mar leans hard into seafood. Oysters, tuna poké, salmon poké, octopus, shrimp ceviche and peeky toe crab are all served on crushed ice. Some handheld items include the Del Mar burger, lobster rolls and fish tacos. There are other options besides ocean fare, like a beef tenderloin, Angus ribeye and brick chicken. A handful of starters, vegetables and salads round out the menu.
The restaurant itself has a similar layout to Harvey & Ed’s; an open kitchen sits at the entrance, allowing diners to look in on the preparation of their meals, and a large dining area separates the kitchen from the bar. A private dining area is located in the back of the restaurant. Keeping with the nautical theme, pictures of sea creatures are displayed on each wall.
Two weeks after Del Mar’s debut, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ second 711 N. High concept, Lincoln Social Rooftop, will celebrate a grand opening. Guests will be able to access the rooftop lounge via a direct elevator inside Del Mar. Lincoln Social opens on April 30.
Del Mar SoCal Kitchen will operate daily for dinner, opening from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 4 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
