DeepWood Restaurant and The Oak Room Have Closed

New-American restaurant DeepWood closed their doors on December 31st. The Oak Room, an art gallery accessible through DeepWood that’s featured dozens of Columbus and U.S. artists over the past two years, closed along with the restaurant. The High Street restaurant, which opened in 2008, released an announcement via Facebook that their doors will be shut permanently. Their reason for closing was not clarified.

“Thank you for making a dream a reality, and accepting our home for culinary and fine arts in the Short North. Today, we toast to you, Columbus. We wish for a happy and healthy New Year to all. Please, accept our gratitude for all the fun and memories, the inspirations and indulgences as we continue to dream, grow, and seek new destinations on the horizon,” read a portion of their farewell Facebook post.

DeepWood was located at 511 N. High Street and currently has no plans to re-open. The Oak Room will continue to support artists online, and has stated that they’re presently searching for a new Columbus location to call home.
