Columbus voters will go to the polls next week and decide if they’ll approve a bond package that the city wants so it can make major improvements on everything from sewers to refuse collection.
The city said that voters will not pay a dime for the package. Twenty-five cents of every tax dollar goes to paying off bond debt and it’s been that way since the 1950s. As the only big city with a AAA bond rating, the city promises not to come after residents for the money once projects are complete.
