If you attended the Evil Dead The Musical that the Dark Woods Theatre company put on last summer, you know they do a great job with outdoor shows. Unfortunately, they lost that space last year. However, have no fear! They announced that a new space has been found. They will now have shows at 10000 Marysville Road (St. Rt. 36) Ostrander, OH 43061.
Fans of haunted houses will be pleased that the group is bringing back their original outdoor haunted attraction – The Experience. Dark Woods started in 2002 with a new kind of haunted attraction – one that relied on the setting and your senses and not power tools and the usual gore. On the new 25 acres, “Dark Woods will forge flavors of various periods in time into a series of themed lands to hold walk-through attractions, craft stalls, art displays, gardens and outdoor performances.”
They plan on making Evil Dead The Musical an annual tradition. If you are interested in being a part of the show, go to www.actorcall.com to set up your account to apply. For the 2012 season, Dark Woods will be hiring over 50 part time performers for the full length shows, musical revues and parades. Hours are Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. They are also hiring 20-30 part time security, hosting, food/beverage and attraction operators. Only general labor positions are scheduled on Monday through Thursday. Get your account set up before Saturday, April 7th if you’d like to audition for Evil Dead The Musical. April 7, 2012 is audition day. They are also looking for artists that create sculptures either in wood or stone. For more information, send an email to [email protected].
Upcoming shows include: Evil Dead The Musical from June 22 – August 18 2012, Reefer Madness from September 7 – October 13 2012, and The Experience from September 28 – October 31 2012.
