Corso Ventures is partnering with Preferred Living on its next project in the Short North. Mixed-used development Luxe 23 features 113 luxury apartments as well as three new concepts from the hospitality group.

Urban Chophouse, Whiskey Lounge and Terrace Bar will bring a variety of drinking and dining options to the building at 1079 N. High St.

Corso Ventures will once again partner with former OSU football coach Urban Meyer, this time on a new concept, Urban Chophouse. Its focus will be on the four S’s – steaks, seafood, sushi and sports. Corso Ventures Marketing Director Justin Kintz says it will be an elevated, yet approachable, fun atmosphere. A place to watch a game and have a refined meal. Last fall the pair opened Urban Meyer’s Pint House at 6632 Longshore St. at Bridge Park.

Whiskey Lounge’s focus will come as no surprise, serving a selection of high-end whiskeys in a classic whiskey bar setting. Things will get a little more energetic in the evening hours, with plans for bottle service and a more club-like atmosphere.

Both will occupy space on the ground floor of the building. Terrace Bar will find its home on the outdoor pavilion area of the second floor.

Creating a tropical oasis in the middle of Short North, Terrace Bar will be an outdoor experience with rentable cabanas, a fun cocktail lineup and a more bar-snack focused menu.

Kintz says they’ll continue to refine the concepts over the coming months as many of the final details are up in the air. They’re likely not looking to open any of the new spots until spring, due in part to the coronavirus. From timelines to how the spaces will be laid out and even menu design, Kintz adds there’s really no aspect of the development that the coronavirus hasn’t impacted.

The Luxe 23 concepts also represent a new direction for Corso Ventures into more of a lifestyle brand. Living in the building, which now has units available, will come with perks like room services, mimosa and bottle service on the weekends, and VIP access to all of Corso Ventures’ venues.
