The Numbers
COVID-19 cases — In Columbus, 65 cases of COVID-19 were reported on Thursday, May 27. As of Thursday, 90,710 total cases and 1,088 deaths from COVID-19 have been reported in Columbus and Worthington.
In Franklin County at large, 99 cases were reported on Wednesday.
Countywide, 135,992 total cases and 1,633 deaths from COVID-19 have been reported by Columbus Public Health and Franklin County Public Health.
In Ohio, 732 cases were reported on Thursday.
Statewide, 1,100,312 total cases and 19,753 deaths have been confirmed or are probable since the start of the pandemic, as reported by the Ohio Department of Health. 1,060,613 Ohioans have been presumed recovered.
According to the Ohio Vaccination Dashboard, 5,248,623 Ohioans (44.90% of the total population) have been administered at least one dose of the vaccine. 626,983 Franklin County residents (47.62% of the county population) have received at least one valid dose.

Governor Links Increased Vaccine Uptake to Vax-a-Million Program — Ohio has continued to see an increase in the number of vaccinations in Ohio since the announcement of the Ohio Vax-a-Million promotion, said Governor Mike DeWine in a press briefing this week.
From May 14 through May 19, as compared to May 7 through May 12, vaccinations in Ohio increased 94% among 16 and 17-year-olds, 46% among 18 and 19-year-olds, and 55% among those between 20 and 49 years old.
Ohio’s first Vax-a-Million drawings took place, with winners Abbigail Bugenske of Silverton winning the $1 million drawing and Joseph Costello of Englewood winning the scholarship drawing.
The next drawing takes place May 31 and will be announced June 2, at 7:30 p.m.
Airbnb Extends Party Ban — Airbnb has announced that a ban on parties established in August 2020 is being extended through at least the end of summer 2021. This is in addition to current policies mandating hosts and guests adhere to local public health laws and the continued ban of “party houses.” Violating the rules set by Airbnb or Columbus’ public health rules can result in suspensions or bans from the Airbnb platform and potential legal action.
Community Pools Open for Summer — Many Community pools are reopening for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. Check out this list for openings, including some pools requiring reservations or season passes.
ADAMH COVID Care Program Available Through June — The Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County’s COVID Care Program is available through June. The program has been linking residents with free financial, food, housing and health services, as well as resources such as legal, clothing, home repair services.
