Construction to Start Soon on Harrison Park Townhomes

Construction is scheduled to begin early next year on 24 townhomes at the corner of Second Avenue and Harrison Park Place in Harrison West. The new units, which will be offered as for-sale condominiums, represent the final piece of Wagenbrenner Development’s larger Harrison Park development.

Half of the townhomes will face parkland to the west while the other half will face Harrison Park Place and the single family homes across the street. Each of the condos – which will be grouped three to a building – will offer rooftop decks, two-car garages and an optional finished basement area.

The Harrison West Society signed off on the plans earlier this year and Wagenbrenner has since been granted all the necessary variances and permits to proceed with construction.

Although the tough financing environment has meant that many recent developments offering a for-sale product in Columbus have gone the fee-simple route (where the land underneath the condo is included in the transaction), the Harrison Park townhomes will be offered as traditional condos.

Preliminary site work has already been completed for the project, according to Wagenbrenner’s Eric Casto. He also also said that the plan is to market and sell the new units simultaneously with Wagenbrenner’s new Grant Park homes in Weinland Park.
