    Construction Roundup: October 2013

Lots of construction happening throughout Columbus in October, with a few new projects recently under way. There was also a lot of development news that will set the state for future construction yet to come.

The suburb of Dublin made the news in multiple ways, including a 25-acre 1000+ unit mixed use development in their Bridge Street Corridor, a greenways enhancement along the Scioto River, and a continued focus on the densification of their Historic Downtown area. Speaking of the Scioto River, the Scioto Audubon Park just wrapped construction on a new obstacle course that is open to the public. Also facing the river is the Columbia Gas building Downtown, which was sold earlier this month with a makeover being planned. Weinland Park was in the news twice recently with Wagenbrenner Development beginning work on renovating 24 historic buildings along 11th Avenue and starting construction on an additional 38 market-rate houses at the former Columbus Coated Fabrics site. Last but not least, a new seven-story building was proposed in Victorian Village behind The Hubbard Grille, which would include a mix of apartments, offices and parking garage space.
