Yesterday’s beautiful sunny weather and sky full of fluffy white clouds proved to be a perfect backdrop when pointing your camera toward the construction cranes in the sky. The first part of this month’s Construction Roundup series featured a variety of development projects from around urban Columbus in various stages. Several mixed-use apartment buildings are wrapping up this summer to be ready for fall move-in dates. Others have only recently gotten started and won’t be finished until sometime in 2015.

Back in the 1880s, the Plain City community wanted a village public square. Little did they know that more than 140 years later, a future generation would have the same idea.
Walker Evans is the co-founder of Columbus Underground, along with his wife and business partner Anne Evans. Walker has turned local media into a full time career over the past decade and serves on multiple boards and committees throughout the community.
