A new community center and a small pocket park on the eastern end of the Jeffrey Park development were approved by the Italian Village Commission at their October 18th meeting.

The one-story building will hold a leasing office and common rooms that will be available to residents of the 276 apartments already completed in the development. The green space will serve to fill out the rest of what is an unusually-shaped parcel on the east side of Vetro Lofts, a 30-unit condominium building that was redeveloped by the Windsor Companies.

Sean Cullen of Wagenbrenner Development, the company responsible for the vast majority of the Jeffrey Park site, said that the completed apartments are fully leased and they hope to see the next phases of the project come together quickly.

“Phase Four site work has begun,” he said, referring to a series of three-story apartment buildings and a parking garage on the far eastern edge of the development. “We are scheduled to have the first 36 units (of 266 total) available in late April or early May 2017.”

Cullen said that site work will begin in March 2017 on Phase Five, which will feature two four- and five-story buildings along North Fourth Street containing for-sale condominium units. The first of those buildings is scheduled to be open in March 2018.

Phases Four and Five were both approved by the commission in May.
