Columbus Underground is excited to announce that its offices will be relocating in July to a new custom-built office space inside the fully renovated and restored Modern Finance Building located at the southeast corner of Gay Street and High Street. The move is not a far one from the current Columbus Underground offices, which are located directly across the street at 14 East Gay Street.
“When it came time to renew our lease, we had originally planned to stay put and work on some major renovations to our current office,” explained Columbus Underground Co-Founder Anne Evans. “But after the opportunity arose to move across the street and custom build a new office space from scratch, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to create a truly unique space that we can call our own.”
The new offices will include a lounge space, private kitchenette, a conference room with High Street views, a phone-booth room for private calls and a collaborative open-office environment. The office design has been completed by local firm Meyers + Associates.
“When we relocated into our current space in 2013, our staff had just expanded to six employees,” said Columbus Underground co-Founder Walker Evans. “But after growing our staff to ten people in the past three years, we’re in need of something new for the future.”
The historic Modern Finance Building is being renovated by The Day Companies, which acquired the building in late 2014. The building was damaged in a fire in April 2014 when it only hosted retail on the ground floor, but has been renovated into a mixed-use property now being called One East Gay, which is housing retail, office space and apartments.
Columbus Underground is expecting to complete the move by the end of the July.
