“Glassdoor’s recent report on the best industries for employment in 2017 revealed that healthcare is the hottest industry in the U.S., accounting for nearly 20 percent of the economy’s open jobs,” stated Sam Radbil, Sr. Communications Manager at Abodo. “Since our job is to help people find their next apartment (a lot of times because of new career opportunities), we wanted to uncover the cities in which healthcare professionals can find the most job opportunities, while also being able to find an affordable apartment.”

The measurements used to determine the rankings includes median one-bedroom rents, median occupation salaries, the wage-to-rent ratio, and total healthcare employment in the job market. Columbus scored well with the wage-to-rent ratio, but overall healthcare jobs only account for 6.21 percent of the local job market.

Overall, Ohio was well represented in the results of the study. Cincinnati ranked #17, Cleveland ranked #4 and Toledo landed in second place.
