Polaris Mall Adding FieldhouseUSA Sports Facility

Many shopping malls across America have been forced to reinvent themselves following the bankruptcy and closure of many national retail brands over the past several years. One reinvention technique includes the conversion of shopping space to entertainment space.

Easton Town Center recently added a LEGOLAND Discovery Center and will add a half dozen new entertainment venues over the next six months (including a PINS Mechanical Co. and Forbidden Root Brewing Co). Earlier this month, The Mall at Tuttle Crossing saw the transformation of a former Macy’s anchor spot into the new Scene75 — a venue that boasts 19 indoor attractions including minigolf and an indoor go kart track. And now, Polaris Fashion Place will follow suit with the launch of FieldhouseUSA, an indoor sports and entertainment complex replacing the now-defunct Sears anchor at the mall.

According to their website, FieldhouseUSA serves “area residents by offering year-round league play in team sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, flag football and futsal”. The facility also provides training programs, sports camps, hosts birthday parties and additional professional and recreational sports.

Three existing FieldhouseUSA location are currently operating in Texas and boast a reported 1.6 million visitors annually.

Sears filed for bankruptcy in October 2018, and closed locations at Polaris and Tuttle in March 2019.
