Columbus Ranked #1 Real Estate Market in US

According to a new report from Realtor.com, Columbus has claimed the number one spot on their list of “hottest real estate markets” in the United States. The Columbus Metro Area ranked 9th place in February’s report, jumping eight spots in March, displacing larger and more expensive metros like Boston and San Francisco.

“Columbus is superaffordable, with a median $249,900 compared to the national listing price of $300,000, which attracts a lot of younger buyers,” stated realtor.com Chief Economist Danielle Hale. “Now that home prices are higher across the board, people are looking to those [more wallet-friendly] areas to buy.”

The rankings are based on a combination of factors, including days on market (how long a home takes to sell) and indicators of buyer demand.

Ohio was well represented as a whole with Akron landing in 16th place and Canton at #19. Click here to view the full list at realtor.com.

Locals who are interested in touring new homes, condos and apartments can take part in Columbus Underground’s Sixth Annual Urban Living Tour event on Sunday, May 5th.
