Columbus Named 6th Best City for Creatives
Another week, another Top 10 list!
This time, Columbus has made the grade when it comes to measuring the creative class, according to a list published by SmartAsset.com, an online financial advisory platform. The rankings in this list compare US cities based upon how well a region can support its creative workforce. The criteria is based upon density and cost of living metrics for those in 28 creative professions, which includes graphic designers, musicians, fashion designers and more.
Columbus ranked in 6th place on the list behind a couple of obvious cities like Austin and Nashville, but also behind a few unexpected high-ranking places like Kalamazoo and Salt Lake City. The list noted that Columbus scored well thanks to our colleges and universities acting as an incubator for creative talent:
“In addition to Ohio State, the Columbus area is home to more than a dozen colleges and universities, including the Columbus College of Art and Design. The city also has eight museums, including the expanding Columbus Museum of Art.”
