Welcome to the first weekend of the new year. I hope you had a great time celebrating NYE. Has your routine gotten settled now that the holidays are over? Get registered for the Downtown Dodgeball league. BRU is open and serving up their brews. Have you tried Betty’s late night brunch yet? Stop in the Homeport Gallery for Laura Alexander’s (CU’s Best Artist of 2012!) exhibit Emergence. The Wexner Center has a 3D version of Creature from the Black Lagoon tonight and Saturday afternoon. Delineations, a solo exhibit by Megan Mosholder opens at the Ohio Art League.


Dinin’ Hall is back open on Friday with Swoop! Shadowbox Live opens their new show, Between the Sheets. The Columbus Symphony Orchestra is performing Vienna Dances on Friday and Saturday. Remember to support your favorite businesses in the Arena District! While you’re there, check out Monster Jam at Nationwide Arena. The Metroparks are open for sledding and skiing. Head to a dance party at Circus. The darkroom is popping at gallery 831. Record Breakers are back at Vinyl Frontier. Mad River Mountain is open for fun! Portlandia returns!


Head to a High Tea and premiere of the third season of Downton Abbey at the Westin Great Southern. The Columbus Bridal Show is happening Saturday and Sunday. It’s time for Gallery Hop in the Short North. Dance party Heatwave is back at Ace of Cups. Dance downtown at Quality at the White Room. Hike Blacklick Woods for the Metroparks first winter hike of the season. DJ D Boogie is at Get Right at Skully’s. Listen to acoustic folk-rock by Ruvane Kurland at Short North Stage.
